Summer Camp: Flight Engineering at Lone Star Flight Museum

Add to plan Remove from plan

10:30am - 3:30pm

Lone Star Flight Museum (LSFM) presents a four-day, in-person summer camp, Flight Engineering, designed for ages 10 to 12 years old.
Summer Camp: Flight Engineering
Campers will explore the roots and future of aeronautical engineering. From the development of historic planes to modern drones, the camp will cover the fundamentals of designing and building aircraft.

Campers will test the design of drones as their speed and agility skills advance, in order to compete in an obstacle course. The professional flyers of Drone Parks Worldwide will provide racing strategy, and campers will experience their first-person Virtual Reality technology.

In addition, they'll practice fixed-wing piloting on LSFM's simulators while progressing through small aircraft to fighter jets. They'll see how cutting-edge technology of 3D printing is used in recreational, industrial, and military aircraft and learn the future possibilities of this amazing technology.

Campers must bring a sack lunch, as well as a separate snack, each day of the camp.

Additional camps are available this summer for ages 8 and 9 and for ages 10 to 12. Click here: link for more information.

Additional daily childcare is available before and after the actual camp session for an additional fee. Click here: link for more information.
The four-day camp is $175 per camper for non-members $150 for museum members and active military (verified by military I.D. on the first day of camp).
